Sen. Seal announces $9.2 million in state road resurfacing contracts for Senate District 8

(NASHVILLE) – Today, State Senator Jessie Seal (R-New Tazewell), announced more than $9.2 million in Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contracts have been awarded for roadway resurfacing projects in Senate District 8, improving safety and extending the life of key state highways across the region.

"Maintaining safe and reliable roads is essential for the families, businesses and communities that depend on them every day," said Seal. "These investments will improve driving conditions, strengthen our transportation infrastructure and help keep people and commerce moving throughout our region. I appreciate TDOT's continued commitment to maintaining our state's roadways."

Projects awarded in Senate District 8 include:

Grainger County

  • SR-92 and SR-1 – Resurfacing from near the Jefferson County line to US-11W and along US-11W from near Loop Circle to near Helton Road.Award: $4,010,040.20Contractor: PRI of East Tennessee, Inc.Estimated completion: Oct. 30, 2026

  • SR-375 – Resurfacing from SR-92 to near White Oak Lane.Award: $878,156.50Contractor: APAC-Atlantic, Inc.Estimated completion: Oct. 31, 2026

  • SR-1 – Resurfacing from Helton Road to near SR-32.Award: $1,419,497.30Contractor: APAC-Atlantic, Inc.Estimated completion: Oct. 31, 2026

Hancock County

  • SR-31 – Resurfacing from near Deer Run Road to near Ben Bloomer Road.Award: $1,714,064.00Contractor: Rogers Group, Inc.Estimated completion: Oct. 30, 2026

Jefferson County

  • SR-139 – Resurfacing from the Sevier County line to SR-92.Award: $1,248,045.50Contractor: Charles Blalock & Sons, Inc.Estimated completion: Oct. 31, 2026

The projects are part of TDOT's ongoing efforts to preserve Tennessee's transportation infrastructure, improve roadway safety and ensure reliable travel for motorists across the state.
